Yappy Howlidays!

My foster mom wants me to apologize for her for not letting me on the 'puter much this month! It has been kinda crazy with all the howliday stuff! She promises she'll let me have more 'puter time now that things are getting back to normal.

First, I learned how to get up on the bed...finally!! This is the best thing ever!!! I love being up there with all of my foster siblings!! I even "snuggle" with Ms. Kim a little, that is after I get my mandatory scritches in!!

Second, Christmas was fun altho Ms. Kim put these funny red things on our heads and took pics of us! But after that we got presents and treats, more than normal!! She said it was Christmas so even the fur-kids got presents!! Woohooo!!! I like this howliday!! We each got a squeaky stuffie altho I acted "cool" and didn't show to much excitement at first but then when no one was looking, I took all of them and put them in my favorite spot!! HEHE!! We also got a chewie and for our special dessert, a frosty paw!! YUMMY!!

Lana was the designated gift unwrapper and she did a great job. Our grandparents sent us some wierd fuzzy glove thing that Ms. Kim said she needed to get our paws cleaned when it rains. She was excited! However, none of us were cuz it wasn't treats!! HEHE!!

Third, that guy, Mr. Carl keeps coming back for a couple of days and then leaving altho one time he stayed for a really long time! During that time we came to an understanding but I still keep my distance from him. I know in time, I will come to like him just as much as Ms. Kim, just give me more time!!

Well, that's it for now!! Hope all of my doggie friends had a great Christmas like me!!

Yappy Howlidays from me and my foster siblings!!

Snow inside?

Since my foster siblings didn't care for the snow outside, my foster mom thinks I decided to create some for inside so everyone could enjoy the snow in the nice warm house!! This occurred sometime after she kicked me, Mocha and Aurora out of the bedroom at 5:00 am as she was saying something about needing some beauty sleep and couldn't get it after being woken up by me 2 other times during the night!! She technically doesn't have any proof it was me as opposed to the other two so I say, "innocent til proven guilty"!

Snow in Houston?

Yep it sure did on Friday, Dec 4th at around 10:00 am!! It was snowing pretty hard for awhile and then tapered off in the afternoon. It surprised us all, most of all Ms. Kim as she kept saying the weathermen are always wrong!! Guess not this time!!

I was the only one that would actually go out onto the snow much to Ms. Kim's dismay. She said I was the only real snow dog among those there!! It was quite cold but it was fine...don't know what the big deal was and why my foster siblings wouldn't go out there with me! They did the next morning, maybe because it wasn't actually snowing. Who knows!! It was a bit soft and wet, and when it was falling, it felt like rain but that's about it!! I did prefer to be inside where it was nice and warm tho! It made my foster mom quite happy as she misses it from back home (Kansas). Of course, Mr. Carl wasn't so happy with it!

Busy weekend, new friend

These long weekend holidays are interesting!! First, Mr. Carl comes home, then he leaves and Ms. Kim has a friend, Ms. Jodi and her fur-kid, Dakota come over for the weekend. It was a lot for me to deal with! I did like meeting and hanging out with Dakota, she's really cool!! Ms. Jodi was nice too.

Sunday they had another person come over and they played some new game that was really loud with drums and guitar!! They were laughing and having a good time!! All of us fur-kids just let them be silly and didn't bother them, especially me as I just stayed outside. In fact, with the cooler night, I really didn't want to come in at all! Plus I was a little overwhelmed with all the new things going on so I was just more comfortable out there. Eventually Ms. Kim got me inside despite my efforts to stay out there all night but she said she didn't trust me to stay out there so I had to come in; she even carried me part of the way. I guess she's right as it was pretty quiet the rest of the night and it was nice a cool in the house too!

We were back to our normal schedule on Monday altho Ms. Kim was grumbling about having to get up and go back to work! I was good all day and with it being cold again, I stayed outside again!! I really didn't want to go back inside and I let Ms. Kim and all her neighbors know about it as I was a crazy boy running all around barking and howling!! Ms. Kim kept telling me to stop saying something about it being 10:30 at night and everyone was trying to sleep and I would wake them up!! Well, not everyone was asleep...she wasn't!! I eventually let her have her way and we walked in; she didn't even have to carry me in this time!

Hopefully the rest of the week will be quiet so I can get back to our routine. Ms. Kim thinks I took a little step backward but it was a busy weekend, lots of new people and noises so she understands why I might've been a little more scared than before and assures me all will be fine. I trust her and know it will!

Yappy Thanksgiving!!

Well, this is my first Thanksgiving here and I am thankful this year for my new life in rescue. I really don't want to talk about my past so I'm just focusing on the present. I am really thankful for all those people who kept their paws crossed and said doggie prayers for me while I was having my own adventure in Wichita Falls earlier in the month. Ms. Kim said everyone was soooo worried about me but never gave up that they would catch me so I could be part of their rescue and find a new fur-ever home!! Woooowooooo!!! (translation - thanks y'all! :-)

Yappy Thanksgiving to my new doggie family and rescue, and to all the other doggies out there!!

Who is this guy?

OK so last Wednesday Ms. Kim came home with this tall, dark, handsome guy and said his name was Mr. Carl and he lived here! Where has he been all this time? Ms. Kim says he travels a lot so he's been out flying and home for the holiday. I was a little skeptical that he was really suppose to be there so I kept running away from him. He said he was a good guy and wanted me to trust him so he put a leash on me and made me walk around with him! I didn't particularly care for that but made the best of the situation. Thankfully, it wasn't for very long or often since he was only there a couple of days. Wonder when he's coming back?

I finally decided to play!

At Lana and Mocha's continuous nagging to play, I finally give him and start playing just to get them to stop altho I think that backfired cuz now they want to play all the time. Lana has a funny way of playing by always grabbing my back hindquarters and both of them are always grabbing my neck!! Whaz up with that?? Mals don't play like that!! Also, Lana loves to paw at me! That girl!! I'm gonna have to teach her how Mals really play...but maybe another day as I'm too worn out now!! HEHE!! Oh and if you're wondering, there is a 3rd foster sibling but apparently she doesn't want to play with me, mom says she's busy sitting on her throne cuz she is a princess!! Not exactly sure why she won't play but that's ok cuz I have my paws full with these two! You can see more pics of me here!

New Moon Effect

OK I've heard my foster mom talk about a new movie called New Moon and how Ms. Delilah is sooo excited to see it. Well, I think I must've dreamt about it and it had an effect on me cuz last night, I just did not want to sleep and I let everyone know about it, especially playing with my favorite squeaky pumpkin! Don't think mom was very excited about that cuz after telling me, Lana and Mocha to stop making noise and go to sleep for 2 hours, she finally kicked us out of the bedroom at 5 AM!! How rude!! LOL!!

Well we didn't like that too much so we got even and chewed up a lint roller that Lana got down from the counter. She wasn't too happy but she forgave us anyway. She blamed it on the moon so I'm thinking she's thinking it was the New Moon too!!

Treats - YUM!!

I finally decided to trust my new foster mom and took treats directly from her hand this morning rather than backing up and having her put them on the ground!! She was sooo estatic she texted everyone she said!!! I like when she's excited cuz we get more treats!!

I know how to speak!!

Houdini here...I've finally gotten somewhat comfy at my new foster home that I let my foster mom know last night while she was working on the laptop and she was excited! She says my voice is very deep!! I also had a barking contest with my foster brother, Mocha as we he was looking out the sidelight window and was barking at something so I barked at my mom to let her know something was up! She kept saying something about huskies and mals aren't suppose to bark...not sure what that means but ok we do and we can't help it!!

Oh and one of my foster sisters, Lana keeps pawing and bowing at me! Mom says she just wants to play but I just don't know about that girl yet!! Maybe one day but for now, I'm sticking with my brother as us guys need to stick together.

Now that I can talk she said I could take over my blog and keep all my fans updated!!

Making Progress!

Houdini has settled in nicely at his foster home! Still hasn't played with the others but I think he's close to playing with Mocha; Lana is still trying hard to get him to play with her. He is getting better at coming in from the back yard as long as I'm away from the door, and he'll eat his meals if I'm not standing too close to him.

Sunday, he started coming up to me while laying on the couch and sniffed me, and eventually gave me a couple of kisses on my feet. He will also come up to get pets if one of the others are getting them as well. He still follows me and still turns if I stop, but his circle of comfort is getting smaller so he's staying pretty close even when I'm walking towards him.

He has done well overnight being left out so that's good as I didn't want to push him to try the crate.

A New Foster Home

I picked up Houdini from the clinic earlier today and brought him home! He is doing good!! He didn't want to get into the SUV and went down to the ground so I eventually picked him up and put him in. Once I got home, he didn't want to get out so I left him in there and crawled into the back with him for 30 min just talking to him. I got out to check on fur-kids and next thing I knew, he came out right after me! He got to explore the house first by himself.

Then brought in my fur-kids one by one!! Lana was first and has claimed him at her next playmate and boyfriend!! :-) Mocha isn't quite sure who the new guy is yet and Aurora who I kept telling people we found her prince seemed interested in him but like all other fosters, could care less now!! HEHE!! We took him outside and he trotted around and did his business. Stayed out there with him for awhile and tried to call him in but he stayed out by the grass/patio line. Lana would go out there to try and coax him in and it took awhile but again, eventually did on his own!!

He does stay back a couple of feet from me but it's funny that he'll follow me around the house and then turn around as soon as I stop. While I've been at the desk, he's been right behind me just laying down! I was quite excited that his tail went up and stayed up for awhile when he was around the fur-kids!! YEAH!!! I think he'll settle in nicely over the next few days.

Here's a few pics of him from tonight!!
